Homework
Policy, Ms. Elliot

1. Points from homework will make up a large
portion of your grade each quarter.
Generally, each homework assignment is worth 10 pts.; you will have
several assingments before an essay or test is required.
2. You should expect homework daily or nearly
daily.
3. It is your
job to write down assignment due dates in your planner from the homework
board. They are listed by due date. You will not find a calendar on my
web-site. Homework is your
responsibility.
4. If you turn in an incomplete assignment
(completed half or less), I will return it to you without a grade and ask you
to complete it and resubmit it for the next class. This will be charged a late grade.
5. It is your responsibility to manage your
time effectively in order to get work in on time. Sports, clubs, and other extra-curricular activities are
secondary to your academic responsibilities.
6. If you do not understand something we do in
class, it is your responsibility to approach me to discuss it. E-mail me (elliote@loswego.k12.or.us)
if you are home and having difficulty.
7. When I start seeing patterns of behavior
(not turning in homework or turning in late homework repeatedly), that’s
when I need to take action. Usually,
that means a one-on-one discussion with you, then if the problem continues, a
discussion w/your counselor and parent(s).
8. When homework comes in late, your grade
suffers; I deduct one grade each day it’s late up to 1 week, then the
assignment is worth half credit.
After that, the assignment will remain a zero.
9. I expect you to e-mail papers to me if
your printer is down. If
impossible, I expect a note from a parent to accompany any excuse of technical
difficulty.
10. All homework is to be turned in to your
class basket, even if you turn it in late.
I will not take responsibility for anything left on my desk or
podium.
Make the right choice;
complete all homework and turn it in on the date due.
