Homework strategies for students and parents

Doing homework the right way is one of the most important things a student can do in order to be successful.  Mathematics is not learned through memorization.  it requires focused, meaningful practice in which the student is constantly monitoring what they know and what they need to work on.

    Helpful hints for parents:

A document containing ALL homework assignments for each chapter is given to the students and posted on my webpage.  Refer to it often.
Stay involved with homework.  There will be a homework assignment almost every night.  Ask to see it.
The purpose of homework is to practice and learn.  The objective is NOT to just have something written down.
Encourage your son/daughter to monitor their strengths and weaknesses
Encourage your son/daughter to address their weaknesses by seeking out extra help.
