Welcome to Mr. Huss's Web Site |
Welcome to my website. Hopefully it will be somewhat helpful. There are not a lot of "bells and whistles" and it is not updated daily, but it can be used as a guide to help you figure out some basis things about the classes that I teach. Currently I teach six sections of Advanced Earth Science.

Calendars
A word of caution - I do not update my
calendar daily, thus it might not be completely accurate due to adjustments that
are necessary on a day to day basis, and even a class to class basis.
Students should be writing their assignments in their planner when we go over
them at the beginning of class and the end of class. If a student is
absent, it is their responsibility to contact me either through email or in
person to make sure they are completing the correct assignments.

Some Important Information About On-line Grades
This year, I am part of a pilot program to start using
an on-line grading program. A number of teacher at LOHS have been selected
and/or volunteered to be a part of this program to post grades on-line for
students and parents to access. I would stress that not all teachers will
be posting grades on-line, and in no way should my posting of grades be used to
encourage or suggest that other teachers be asked to post their grades.
I will update the grades on-line when I am current with grading. This typically happens every three weeks. I will typically post grades a few days after a unit test, depending on how long it takes me to grade the test, homework packets, and any labs of that unit. If you email for a grade update before that, I will probably simply refer to the last posting grade.
In addition, if students have been absent or turned in a late assignment, there is no guarantee that it will be posted immediately.. I typically wait to grade all late / absent work until after I have caught up grading all work that was handed in on time.

Unit Outlines (2008-2009 school year)
This year I am trying to hand out an outline of each
unit at the start of the unit for conceptual physics students - I will also post them on the
website (when I remember). They might be more helpful and informative than
the traditional calendar that I have used in the past.

1 - Kinematics
Unit 2 - Vectors and Projectiles
Unit
3 - Newton's Laws
