Empty Bowls
The second annual
"Empty Bowls" fundraiser will be held on Wednesday, November 28th,
from 530 to 730 pm,
in conjunction with the ASB Canned Food Drive.
"Empty
Bowls" is a nationally recognized charity project that raises money
for local food banks. Steve Schiefelbein's Advanced Ceramics classes will
create pottery bowls that will be used to serve a simple meal of soup and bread
prepared by Leiann Riggins' Beginning Foods and Nutrition classes.
Participants will enjoy the meal and keep their bowl as a reminder of
the problem of world hunger.
A limited number of tickets, just 100, are available for purchase from the Business Office for $10.
Proceeds
from the event will benefit our local community through
Our Lady of the Lake Parish Food Pantry.
