March 16,17- Advanced and Independent Study students from Lake Oswego High School were able to take part in an ancient form of Japanese pottery firing. Students worked shifts for a total of nearly 26 hours straight feeding wood into a large (150+ pot) Japanese style anagama hill-climbing kiln. The kiln was fired for about three days, then shut down and left to cool for nearly a week. All the hard work was worth it when students were finally able to see their beautiful and unique pots.

BelowLeft: The Whole group is happy to finally be finished with their shift. BelowRight: The fire blazes as the door is opened momentarily.

Below: Everyone gathers around to take a look at all the results.
